FESTIVAL | ROC City Rib Fest

The ROC City Rib Fest returns to Genesee Valley Park for its ninth year of Memorial Day Weekend barbeque competitions. "When you think Memorial Day Weekend, you think backyard barbeque" says co-founder Todd Krupa. "With the Rib Fest, you get world-class barbeque." This year's festival will feature live music, a food truck "throwdown," and some BBQ rivalry. The four-day event will host more than 20 bands, eight competing food trucks, 50 teams, and 14 food vendors. ROC City Rib Fest will also have a fun zone for kids, 33 retail booths, and competitive events including the World Bacon Championship, ROC City Rib Cook Off, and People's Choice Ribs. A portion of each entry from the Rib Fest is donated to Golisano Children's Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester.

The ROC City Rib Fest will take place at Genesee Valley Park (99 Elmwood Avenue) Friday, May 27, through Monday, May 30. 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday. Entrance fee is $5, or $10 for weekend passes; free admittance for children under 12. roccityribfest.org.
