RECREATION | Durand Eastman Park Arboretum Tours

With the warm weather finally here, it's time to end your months-long Netflix marathon, pack away the space heater, and get yourself outside for some salubrious fresh air. Throughout April, Monroe County Cooperative Extension, in conjunction with Monroe Country Parks, will lead public tours of the historic Durand Eastman Park Arboretum (located at 100 Zoo Road). The tours, conducted by the Community Forester Volunteers, will meet at the kiosk on Zoo Road, next to the park offices lot, and will make its way along the moderate hills and wooded trails of the park.

The tours will be held on Sundays in April — 13, 20, and 27 — at 2-4 p.m. Admission is free, however donations are accepted to support the Extension's Master Gardener Program. For more information, email [email protected] or call 261-1665. Don't forget to dress accordingly for the weather and trails.
