Electric guitarist and composer Cyrus Pireh is a different sort of animal. An artist unrelentingly focused on ambient and drone elements, Pireh makes the kind of music that has no beginning and no end, but invites you to immerse yourself in the sound. With compositions that can easily last more than 20 minutes, the Duluth, Minnesota-based musician can inundate you in cerebral electronic soundscapes, like on the album "Coils on Malbec," or he can stop you in your tracks with blistering guitar licks that link together to form an impenetrable drone — check out the album "Cyrus Pireh & Honduras." If you prefer unbridled sounds over packaged tunes, this should be a thrilling performance. Asthmatic, Wild Gone Girls, and Joe+N will also play.
Cyrus Pireh will perform with "Member of Reynols" on Wednesday, July19, at the Bug Jar, 219 Monroe Avenue. 9 p.m. $8-$10. bugjar.com; 4gre.org.
