HIP-HOP | Lil Wop

Lil Wop could soundtrack a lean-fueled, late-night zombie nightmare. The Atlanta rapper uses his croaking voice to full effect in his ruthless horrorcore — he regularly calls his music hard rock, and it comes out like trap with a horror punk aesthetic. A diehard Gucci Mane acolyte (he's got his own ice cream cheek tattoo sitting below a dagger that would scare the shit out of Aaron Neville), Lil Wop is signed to Gucci Mane's 1017 Records, which last October released "Wopavelli 3," Wop's fourth mixtape of 2017. A legion of rappers is on this bill with Lil Wop: Chxpo, FRBDN, Ben Swavo, Lil Geechy, ftg!, and MXNVCE.

Lil Wop performs Thursday, April 5, at the California Brew Haus, 402 West Ridge Road. 6 p.m. $20. tecshows.com; soundcloud.com/lilwop17.
