METAL | Anthrax

As one of the Big Four — along with Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth — New York City's Anthrax is truly a trailblazing metal phenomenon. The band started out as more of a speed metal outfit, like on its debut album, "Fistful of Metal" (which features our own Dan Lilker on bass), before delving into uncharted, you-got-your-metal-in-my-hip-hop territory with tunes like "I'm the Man" and the groundbreaking collab with Public Enemy, "Bring The Noise."

Anthrax plays with Killswitch Engage and Havok on Friday, March 2, at The Dome Arena, 2695 East Henrietta Road. 6:30 p.m. $30. therocdome.com; anthrax.com.
