Film: New films opening in wide release today include "The Call" and "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone." Pittsford Cinema will open "Barbara," and the Little Theatre will open "Lore" and "Speak." The Dryden Theatre screen "East of Eden," "Il Posto," "The Last Time I Saw Monaco," "Misery," and "The Sound of Music." Music: Get into the St. Patrick's Day mood tonight as the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra POPS, under the direction of Jeff Tyzik, present a selection of Irish ballads sung by guest tenor John McDermott, and featuring dancers from the Boland School of Irish Dance. Theater: RCP Irish Players will present Lennox Robinson's 1933 comedic play, "Is Life Worth Living?," tonight at 8 p.m. at MuCCC (142 Atlantic Ave.). Tickets are $9-$19 and the play continues through March 30. For more information, visit muccc.org.

Comedy: Get your giggle on while doing some good. Laugh Riot, Goo House, and 3 Guys Walk Into A Bar have collaborated to present "Laughs For Lifebox," a benefit show for Lifebox, which takes place tonight at 8 p.m. at the German House Theater (315 Gregory St.). Kids: "Elmo Makes Music" will run for six performances this weekend at the Auditorium Theatre (885 E. Main St.), beginning tonight at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.50-$27.50, and the show continues through March 17. Visit rbtl.org for more information.

Music: Giving new meaning to "Excite Bike," ROC_CHIP 28 will feature Buffalo artist Danimal Cannon creating electronic jams by using his GameBoy. Also on the bill are Scrabble-bonus named Sparxs and Yarms, which sound more New Wave than electro-folk, but it's catchy as all get out. Recreation:Letchworth State Park in Castile will host an "Evening Waterfalls Walk" tonight at 6 p.m. Meet at Inspiration Point for a three-hour guided hike among the park's waterfalls. The park has an $8 parking free, and it is recommended that you bring a flashlight. For more info, call 493-3625.

Music: The Rochester Oratorio Society performs tonight at Hochstein School of Performance & Dance (50 N. Plymouth Ave.) with a program featuring works by Mozart, Faure, and Beethoven.
