The Rochester Academy of Science presents Astrobiology PhD candidate Ashley Pollock speaking on "The Late Heavy Bombardment and the Origin of Life". She will discuss recent discoveries of the first two billion years of the Precambrian from accretion of Earth 4.6 billion years ago to the Great Oxygen Crisis about 2.4 billion years ago - of how early Earth life lived and died surrounded by both life-giving and catastrophic geologic events, atmospheric changes, plate tectonics, and solar system debris. There will be amazing surprises here, including definitive proof of how early life started—probably on the Moon & Mars, too.
